A Young Woman’s Irresponsible and Hazardous Drinking Leads To a DUI, Mental Health Issues, Depression, Time Locked Up In Jail, and Love, Dating, and Relationship Issues

Jesse had a very hard time keeping a job. In truth, due to her sluggishness and lack of drive, she was jobless far more regularly than she was in a job situation. And when she did get employment, she had an exceedingly hard time getting to work on time, she usually got less than great performance assessments, and she called off sick so frequently that she almost always got fired two or three weeks after she began working. It goes without saying that one of the effects of Jesse’s less than stellar work track record was the fact that she was almost totally broke almost everyday.
In spite of Jesse’s appalling work history and financial disregard, then again, one way or another she managed to drink in a hazardous and irresponsible manner almost everyday. Not surprisingly, her abusive drinking also resulted in a number of love, dating, and relationship difficulties over the years.
Based on her irresponsible and hazardous drinking, it came as no big surprise when Jesse received a second DWI. When she went to court, the judge stated to Jesse that her alcohol-related behavior was terrible and, consequently, he was going to sentence Jesse to spend eleven months behind bars.
Time In The Municipal Jail To Reflect On The Injurious Consequences of Hazardous and Excessive Drinking
During her time behind bars, Jesse was expected to learn more about alcohol facts, about the adverse outcomes of hazardous drinking, and she was required to get alcohol counseling. The magistrate accentuated the fact that unless Jesse receives professional alcohol treatment and discovers how to live a life of abstinence, she will most likely be spending more than a short amount of time locked up.
Jesse articulated that she comprehended what the judge was asserting but she still proclaimed that placement in the city jail was not the correct sentence. The judge saw things from an entirely different vantage point and said that it was his professional job to keep alcohol addicted individuals off the streets who drive and drink and who receive one or more DWIs. To support this assertion, the magistrate outlined some respected, highly researched alcohol statistics that highlighted some of the injurious results that are correlated with thoughtless drinking.
Although Jesse understood that she drank in an excessive and irresponsible manner, she never thought that she was an alcohol dependent person. So it was a big surprise when Jesse started to have symptoms of alcohol withdrawal about five hours after getting locked up in the municipal jail.
To treat her symptoms of alcohol withdrawal in a safe manner, Jesse was taken by ambulance to a rehabilitation center for alcohol detoxification and then returned to the local jail. While locked up in the county jail Jesse received a mental health evaluation for her depression and was given alcohol therapy but since she got this rehab as something that was forced upon her, she did not take ownership of her excessive drinking.
When her time behind bars was over, the magistrate without wavering announced to Jesse that she would be under rigorous surveillance and would be required to take periodic random breathalyzer alcohol tests.
Jessie’s Irresponsible Drinking Prevents Her From Living in an Adult and Productive Manner
After hearing how Jesse neglected to take ownership of her drinking circumstances and how she unwillingly followed the treatment procedures while in the county jail, the magistrate knew that it was simply a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about her excessive drinking behavior. As the magistrate reflected on Jesse’s situation, he couldn’t help but think about how some people never figure things out and discover how to live in a responsible and mature manner.
